Conversing with an array

1984

A simple computer program that stored (in an array) the user’s sentences, then reused everything randomly to talk to the writer. The only words that were always present from the beginning were the answers “yes” and “no”.

The image is a screenshot of a first attempt to rewrite the code (in JavaScript) for the Processing Community Day held in 2019 in Milano, Italy. The original version was developed in BASIC with an Atari 800XL and stored on a “digital” musicassette that has become unusable.
